After ending a long and successful career as a Kitchen Designer and Wholesaler, Rich Clancy decided to embark on a new profession in the Financial Industry. In 1994, he began that journey in an Insurance Agency where he learned about the intricacies of the Medicare system, as well as the issues surrounding Long Term Care costs and how to help Seniors navigate those complicated waters.
In the years following that career change, Rich received extensive training in the areas of Retirement Planning and Estate Planning Strategies. He completed numerous courses of study within the ChFC program of The American College, and attended monthly financial training workshops conducted over a number of years by Certified Financial Planner, Christopher D. Kline. Rich advanced to a position of Assistant Manager of the agency where he trained many newcomers to the business. In 2005, he decided to become independent and formed The Prosperity Financial Group. This independence allowed him to pursue new avenues of service to his clients. Over the years, he has developed lasting relationships with his clients, many of whom have “passed him down” to their children and families as far down as two generations. One of the greatest lessons he has learned over the years did not come from a classroom. And that lesson is of the importance of a trusting relationship between the Advisor and Client.
Rich and his wife, Peg, currently reside in their home in the country near DeLand, Florida. Between them, they have three children and three grandchildren all living in different parts of the country. Rich volunteers as a Certified Guardian ad Litem in the 7th Judicial Circuit advocating in the courts on behalf of children in Foster Care, and serving as a Mentor to new volunteers. Peg is a Licensed Massage Therapist. She also does volunteer work at the Volusia County Council on Aging.
